This kit is ideal for users who want a convenient and sensitive assay. The assay is designed for the enumeration of cells secreting human IL-4. The kit includes ELISpot plates pre-coated with monoclonal antibody, biotinylated detection antibody, Streptavidin-ALP and ready-to-use BCIP/NBT-plus substrate. A polyclonal activator for human T cells (mAb CD3-2) is supplied as a positive control for cytokine secretion.

Analyte Information

IL-4
Interleukin-4 (IL-4, IL4) is produced by activated T cells, especially differentiated CD4+ TH2-type cells, and stimulated mast cells and basophils. The most important effects of IL-4 are the regulation of helper T cell differentiation to the TH2 type and the regulation of IgE and IgG4 production by B cells.
